Day 2

Breakfast, Orientation ride of the Alta Langhe region (plenty of twisty mountain roads and hairpin bends to get you into the mood of this region) passing through some of the famous vineyards in this region, picturesque Piemontese villages, stopping for a light lunch in a Trattoria on the way. In the afternoon we will call in at the Harley-Davidson® dealership near Barolo if you want to look for “Tees” or memorabilia or simply just browse (note: Piemonte Bike Tours guests enjoy 10% discount off motorclothes and accessories) Lazy ride back through more stunning scenery and hillside roads.

Day 3

Breakfast, then start a scenic ride south towards the French border passing through the oldest and highest road tunnel through the Maritime Alps. We will ride along the beautiful Roya Valley stopping at a restaurant for lunch then continue through stunning scenery entering back in to Italy to arrive at the Ligurian coastal town of Ventimiglia. Time permitting we can make a short detour into Monaco for a coffee then head back along the coast road into Italy, head inland through another mountain pass back to our base in Piemonte.

Day 4

Breakfast, Ride north passing the vineyards of Nizza Monferrato, Asti (famous for Spumante – sparkling wine!) crossing the river Po east of Turin then onwards to the northern most region of Italy, Valle D’Aosta. We will stop along the route and visit the ancient roman town Pont Saint Martin, then continue north to foothills of Monte Cervino (Matterhorn) where we will stop for the night

Day 5

After breakfast, we head south towards Turin skirting past the city with the mountains of the Maritime Alps to west and the regional monument of Monviso (urban legend says this mountain peak was the inspiration for logo of Paramount Pictures). We will cruise through many old market towns on our way back to the Alta Langhe arriving late afternoon for a well earned rest.

Day 6

Final day, a leisurely rideout through some typical Piemontese countryside towards the Ligurian coast stopping off at a lakeside cafe for a short break then down to the coast for a short ride along the seafront passing through Savona and Albissola then inland to the hills around Ovada and the ancient Roman town of Acqui Terme (famous for the thermal springs that emerge in the centre of town) We can park up here for a short walk into the town centre and perhaps have a coffee or ice-cream. Lazy ride home to Piemonte Bike Tours’ farmhouse base, “Cascina Belbo”.

At this point you will park and handover the bikes. Time to freshen up then meet later in the evening for a farewell dinner and time to reflect on the past 5 days Italian experience.
